교회를 향한 하나님의 계획 엡 3:1-12

바울은 복음을 비밀이라고 했습니다. 이 비밀은 구약 시대에는 감추어져 있었지만, 하나님의 때가 되자 그리스도를 통하여 온전히 드러났습니다. 이 비밀은 단지 개인의 구원만이 아니라, 온 세상을 구원하시려는 하나님의 거대한 계획을 의미합니다. 구약 시대에는 선택된 이스라엘을 통해 하나님의 뜻이 나타났기에 이방인은 이를 알기 어려웠습니다. 그러나 이제는 모든 사람에게 동일하게 드러나, 그리스도를 믿는 모든 자에게 구원의 길이 열렸습니다. 그리스도를 믿는다는 것은 그 안에 거하며 그와 연합하는 것을 의미합니다.

이 놀라운 특권은 교회를 통해 분명하게 드러납니다. 우리가 예수님을 주님으로 고백하고 세례를 받음으로 그리스도를 머리로 모신 교회의 지체가 됩니다. 지역 교회의 일원이 되는 동시에, 더 넓은 공교회의 일원이 됩니다. 하나님께서 바울을 이방인을 위한 사도로 세우신 것처럼, 우리를 불러 가족과 친구들을 구원으로 이끄는 일꾼이 되게 했습니다. 교회는 그리스도 안에서 베푸신 구원의 은혜를 앞으로 올 모든 세대에 보여 주는 공동체입니다(엡 2:7).

God’s Plan for the Church (Ephesians 3:1–12)

Paul describes the gospel as a mystery. This mystery was hidden during the Old Testament era, but in God’s appointed time it was fully revealed through Christ. It is a mystery not merely about the salvation of individuals, but about God’s vast plan to save and restore the entire world. In the Old Testament, God’s will was made known primarily through His chosen people, Israel, so the Gentiles could not easily understand it. But now this mystery has been openly revealed to all people, and the way of salvation is offered equally to everyone who believes in Christ. To believe in Christ means to dwell in Him and to be united with Him.

This astonishing privilege becomes visible through the church. When we confess Jesus as Lord and receive baptism, we become members of the church, with Christ as our head. We belong not only to a local congregation but also to the wider, universal church. Just as God appointed Paul as an apostle to the Gentiles, He has also called us to be workers who lead our families and friends toward salvation. The church is the community through which God displays the riches of His saving grace to all generations yet to come (Eph 2:7).

구원받은 성도의 생활 (엡 2:1-10)

에베소서 2장은 구원이 하나님이 은혜로 주신 선물임을 강조합니다. 우리는 죄의 영향력 아래 살며 하나님의 심판을 받아야 할 처지에 있었지만, 예수 그리스도의 대속의 은혜로 새롭게 되었습니다. 죄 사함을 받고 영생을 누리며 하나님 나라를 물려받을 상속자가 되었습니다. 예수님을 믿고 거듭난 삶을 살아보니, 그것이 우리를 향한 하나님의 깊은 배려였으며 그리스도의 거룩함과 성품을 닮아가게 하려는 하나님의 계획이었음을 깨닫게 됩니다. 그 은혜 때문에 우리가 믿음을 갖게 되었고 구원을 얻었으니, 하나님의 선물에 감사하는 것은 당연합니다.

하나님의 은혜로 믿음을 갖게 되었고 그 믿음으로 구원을 받았으니, 구원에 관한 한 우리의 공로는 없습니다. 구원이 하나님의 선물이고, 그 구원을 얻게 하는 믿음도 하나님의 선물이라면, 우리가 자랑할 것은 하나님 자신이며 하나님이 행하신 일입니다. 참으로 성도는 하나님께서 선한 일을 드러내기 위해 만드신 새로운 걸작품입니다. 장차 예수님처럼 영화롭게 될 것을 믿으며 한 해의 신앙생활에 큰 진전이 있기를 바랍니다.

The Life of a Redeemed Believer (Ephesians 2:1–10)

Ephesians 2 emphasizes that salvation is a gift given by God’s grace. We once lived under the power of sin and stood deserving of God’s judgment, but through the redeeming grace of Jesus Christ we have been made new. We received the forgiveness of sins, inherited eternal life, and became heirs of the kingdom of God. As we live a born‑again life through faith in Jesus, we come to realize that this was God’s thoughtful care for us and His plan to shape us into the likeness of Christ’s holiness and character. Because of this grace, we have come to believe, and through that faith we have received salvation. It is only right, then, that we give thanks for God’s gift.

Since it is by God’s grace that we have faith, and by that faith we are saved, we have no grounds for boasting in ourselves. If salvation is God’s gift, and even the faith that leads to salvation is God’s gift, then the only One we can boast in is God Himself and the work He has done. Truly, believers are God’s new masterpiece, created to display His goodness. As we look forward to the day when we will be glorified like Christ, may this year bring meaningful growth in our life of faith.

성도가 누리는 신령한 복 (엡 1:3-14)

에베소서는 바울의 여러 서신 가운데서도 구원을 가장 분명하게 설명하는 책입니다. 바울은 1장에서만 ‘그리스도 안에서’라는 표현을 10번 이상 사용하며, 성도가 그리스도 안에서 누리는 영적인 복을 강조합니다. 그의 설명에 따르면, 성부 하나님은 우리의 구원을 계획하고 선택하셨고, 성자 예수님은 그 뜻에 순종하여 십자가에서 죽으심으로 우리를 죄에서 구속하셨으며, 성령께서는 그 구원을 우리의 것으로 확증해 주십니다. 하나님의 구원을 확신하며 하나님 나라의 후사로 살아가는 것이 성도가 누리는 참된 복입니다.

로마서 8:30은 “미리 정하신 그들을 또한 부르시고 부르신 그들을 또한 의롭다 하시고 의롭다 하신 그들을 또한 영화롭게 하셨느니라”고 말합니다. 구원을 과거형으로 표현한 것은 하나님의 구원이 그만큼 확실하다는 뜻입니다. 그러니 이미 받은 은혜를 감사하고, 부르심에 합당한 삶을 살아갑시다. 우리에게 승리를 주시는 주님 안에 거하며 그의 성품을 닮아갑시다.

The Spiritual Blessings Believers Enjoy (Ephesians 1:3–14)

Among Paul’s letters, Ephesians is the book that explains salvation with the greatest clarity. In chapter 1 alone, Paul uses the phrase “in Christ” more than ten times, emphasizing the spiritual blessings believers enjoy in Christ. According to his explanation, God the Father planned and chose our salvation, God the Son obeyed the Father’s will and redeemed us from sin through His death on the cross, and God the Holy Spirit confirms that this salvation truly belongs to us. To live with assurance of God’s salvation and as heirs of His kingdom—this is the true blessing believers enjoy.

Romans 8:30 says, “Those He predestined He also called; those He called He also justified; those He justified He also glorified.” The fact that salvation is expressed in the past tense shows how certain and secure God’s saving work is. Therefore, let us give thanks for the grace we have already received and live lives worthy of His calling. Let us remain in the Lord who gives us victory and grow to reflect His character.

결승선까지 완주 합시다 (빌 3:10-15)

우리가 예수님을 만났다는 것은, 예수님을 우리 삶의 가장 높은 가치이자 주인으로 모셨다는 의미입니다. 불순종과 죄로 인해 영적으로 죽었고, 마귀에게 조종당하며 세상을 따라 살던 우리들을 하나님께서 그리스도를 통하여 살려주셨고, 하늘에서 그분과 함께 앉도록 은혜를 베풀어주셨습니다(엡 2:1–6). 그러나 입술로 고백한 대로 사는 것은 쉽지 않습니다. 우리의 내면에서 일어나는 갈등과 외부에서 오는 어려움, 거기에 마귀의 방해도 있기 때문입니다. 그래서 바울처럼 예수님이 주실 상을 바라보며 끝까지 달려가는 믿음을 배워야 합니다.

바울은 예수님과 하나 되기를 사모했고, 예수님이 주실 상을 바라보며 계속 달려갔습니다. 그는 이방인에게 복음을 전하는 것을 자신의 사명으로 알고, 그 부르심을 위해 끝까지 달려갔습니다. 오직 그리스도만을 위해서 살았습니다. 사나 죽으나 그리스도를 위한 길을 선택했습니다. 우리들도 바울처럼 우리의 왕이며 주인이신 예수님을 위한 삶을 선택하며 ‘그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님이 위에서 부르신 부름의 상’을 위해 달려갑시다.

Let Us Run to the Finish Line (Philippians 3:10–15)

Meeting Jesus means that we have welcomed Him as the highest treasure and true Lord of our lives. Because of our disobedience and sin, we were spiritually dead—following the ways of the world and being influenced by the devil. Yet God, through Christ, brought us to life and graciously seated us with Him in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 2:1–6).

However, living according to the confession of our lips is not easy. We face inner conflicts, external hardships, and even the enemy’s interference. That is why we must learn, like Paul, to keep running with faith, fixing our eyes on the prize Jesus will give.

Paul longed to be united with Christ, and he kept pressing on toward the prize that Christ promised. He understood that preaching the gospel to the Gentiles was his calling, and he ran to fulfill that calling to the very end. He lived solely for Christ. Whether in life or in death, he chose the path that honored Christ.

Let us also choose to live for Jesus—our King and Lord—and run toward “the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus,” just as Paul did.

교회를 위한 기도 (빌 1:1-11) 1/11/26 사무총회주일

하나님께서는 아시아로 향하던 바울 일행의 발걸음을 유럽으로 돌리셨습니다. “밤에 환상이 바울에게 보이니 마게도냐 사람 하나가 서서 ‘마게도냐로 건너와서 우리를 도우라’ 하거늘, 바울이 이 환상을 본 후 우리가 곧 마게도냐로 떠나기를 힘쓰니 이는 하나님이 저 사람들에게 복음을 전하라고 우리를 부르신 줄로 인정함이러라”(행 16:8-10). 바울 일행은 이 환상을 성령의 인도하심으로 받아들이고, 원래 계획했던 터키 지역 대신 유럽의 빌립보로 향했고 교회는 하나님의 임재 가운데 세워져 갔습니다.

사무총회를 준비하며 한 해의 살림을 돌아보니, 하나님께서 공급하시고 보호하셨음을 새삼 깨닫습니다. 교회의 머리이신 주님께서 직접 일하셨습니다. 우리는 주인을 위해 일하는 종입니다. 그러므로 새해에도 복음의 본질에 충실하여 하나님께서 행하시는 구원의 일을 증거하는 교회가 되기를 다짐합니다.

“너희 속에 착한 일을 시작하신 이가 그리스도 예수의 날까지 이루실 줄을 우리가 확신하노라”(빌 1:6). “예수 그리스도로 말미암아 의의 열매가 가득하여 하나님의 영광과 찬송이 되기를 원하노라”(빌 1:11). 이를 위해 자기 일만 돌아보지 말고 다른 사람의 일도 돌아봅시다(빌 2:4). 열심을 품고 주님을 섬기며 모이기에 힘쓰는 교회가 됩시다. 주님의 임재의 능력이 우리의 삶을 통해 세상에 드러나도록 주님의 마음을 배우는 일에 힘씁시다.

Prayer for the Church (Philippians 1:1–11)

God redirected the steps of Paul and his companions, who had intended to go toward Asia, and led them instead to Europe. “During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, ‘Come over to Macedonia and help us.’ After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them” (Acts 16:8–10). Paul’s team received this vision as the leading of the Holy Spirit, changed their original plan to travel through the region of modern-day Turkey, and went to Philippi in Europe. There, the church was established in the very presence of God.

As we prepare for the General Assembly and look back on the past year, we are reminded once again that God has provided for us and protected us. The Lord, the head of the church, has been at work Himself. We are servants who labor for our Master. Therefore, in the new year, we commit ourselves to remain faithful to the essence of the gospel and to become a church that testifies to the saving work God is accomplishing.

“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6). “Filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God” (Philippians 1:11). To this end, let us look not only to our own interests but also to the interests of others (Philippians 2:4). Let us be a church that serves the Lord with zeal and is devoted to gathering together. And let us strive to learn the heart of the Lord so that the power of His presence may be revealed to the world through our lives.

예수님의 마음을 배우자 (빌 2:1-12) 신년주일

그리스도의 마음을 품는 것은 단순한 감정이나 지식을 얻는 것을 말하는 것이 아닙니다. 생각과 가치관과 삶의 태도가 그리스도 중심으로 되어야 할 것을 말하는 것입니다. 예수님은 하나님과 동등한 분임에도 그 권리를 내려놓고 사람의 모습으로 세상에 오셨습니다. 죄인들을 위하여 십자가에서 죽기까지 아버지의 구원의 뜻에 복종했습니다. 예수님의 십자가 대속사역과 지금도 우리를 위해 기도하시는 중보사역은 우리가 믿고 고백하는 신앙의 핵심입니다. “누구든지 그리스도의 영이 없으면 그리스도의 사람이 아니니라”(로마서 8:9)고 했습니다.

예수님의 겸손과 비움을 실천할 때 비로소 자기를 낮출 수 있고 자기 십자가를 지고 주님을 뒤따를 수 있습니다. 우리가 그리스도의 사랑을 함께 나눌 때 세상이 우리가 예수님의 제자인 것을 알게 될 것입니다. 자기를 낮추신 예수님을 닮아 우리도 그 사랑을 적용하며 삽시다. 성령의 도움으로 예수님을 깊이 알고 배우는 한 해의 시간이 되기 바랍니다.

Let Us Learn the Heart of Jesus (Philippians 2:1–12)

Having the mind of Christ does not simply mean gaining certain emotions or knowledge. It means that our thoughts, values, and attitudes must become centered on Christ. Although Jesus is equal with God, He laid aside His rights and came into the world in the form of a human being. For the sake of sinners, He obeyed the Father’s will of salvation even to the point of death on the cross. The redemptive work of Jesus on the cross, and His ongoing intercession for us even now, are the core of the faith we believe and confess. Scripture says, “If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ” (Romans 8:9).

Only when we practice the humility and self‑emptying of Jesus can we truly lower ourselves, take up our own cross, and follow Him. When we share the love of Christ together, the world will recognize that we are disciples of Jesus. Let us imitate Jesus, who humbled Himself, by applying that same love in our lives. May this year be a time in which, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we come to know and learn Jesus more deeply.

네 마음과 목숨과 힘과 뜻을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑하라 (눅 10:25-42) 송년주일 정준희목사

예수님께서는 영생의 길이 지식을 아는 데 있지 않고 말씀을 삶으로 살아내는 데 있음을 가르치십니다. “마음을 다하고 목숨을 다하고 힘을 다하고 뜻을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑하라”는 말씀은, 삶의 모든 행위 이전에 하나님을 향한 사랑이 가장 앞자리에 놓여야 함을 의미합니다.

또한 예수님은 이웃 사랑을 특정한 기준이나 자격으로 제한하지 않으시고, 우리가 만나는 모든 사람을 이웃으로 부르십니다. 하나님의 사랑으로 이웃을 사랑함은, 하나님께서 우리에게 주신 사랑의 모양을 따라, 사랑할 만한 사람만을 사랑하는 것이 아니라 모든 사람에게, 내 손해를 감수하더라도 먼저 베푸는 사랑임을 보여줍니다.

하나님을 사랑하는 마음이 우선될 때, 그 사랑은 자연스럽게 이웃을 향한 삶의 실천으로 흘러나오게 됩니다.

“Love the Lord Your God with All Your Heart, Soul, Strength, and Mind” (Luke 10:25–42)

Jesus teaches us that the path to eternal life is not found merely in knowing the right answers, but in living out God’s Word. The command, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,” means that before any action we take, love for God must come first and stand above everything else.

Jesus also does not limit love for neighbor by setting conditions or qualifications. Instead, He calls every person we encounter our neighbor. To love our neighbor with God’s love means following the pattern of the love God has shown us—loving not only those who seem easy to love, but extending love to all people, even when it costs us something, offering love first.

When love for God takes priority in our hearts, that love naturally flows outward into concrete actions toward our neighbors.

참 사랑을 알려주신 예수님 (요 13:34-35)

대림절을 지나 성탄절을 맞이하는 우리는, 참 사랑을 보여주신 예수님을 깊이 묵상합니다. 전능하신 하나님께서는 얼마든지 다른 방식으로 죄인을 용서하실 수 있었지만, 인간의 몸을 입고 세상에 오셔서 십자가에서 죽으셨습니다. 하나님은 자신의 사랑을 말로만 전하지 않으시고, 직접 우리 가운데 찾아오셔서 죄인이 받아야 할 형벌을 대신 짊어지시고 십자가에서 죽으심으로 참된 사랑을 나타내셨습니다.

롬 5:8은 이렇게 말합니다. “우리가 아직 죄인이었을 때에 그리스도께서 우리를 위해 죽으심으로 하나님께서 우리에 대한 사랑을 나타내셨습니다.” 요일 4:9도 증언합니다. “하나님은 외아들을 세상에 보내셔서 우리가 그를 통해 살 수 있게 하심으로 우리에게 자기의 사랑을 나타내셨습니다.”

예수님은 죄인들과 함께 거하시기 위해 인간의 모습으로 세상에 오셨습니다. 성탄절은 임마누엘 되신 예수님을 인격적으로 만나는 시기이며, 지금도 우리 안에 성령으로 함께하시는 그분을 다시 바라보는 때입니다. 하나님의 사랑을 경험한 우리는 그 어느 때보다 영생의 기쁨을 감사하며, 그 사랑을 이웃에게 나누어야 합니다. 이것이 예수님을 기쁘시게 하는 길이며, 이웃을 사랑하는 참된 방법입니다.

예수님은 요 13:34-35에서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “이제 내가 새로운 계명을 너희에게 준다. 서로 사랑하여라. 내가 너희를 사랑한 것처럼 너희도 서로 사랑하여라. 너희가 서로 사랑하면 모든 사람들이 그것을 보고 너희가 내 제자라는 것을 알게 될 것이다.”

이 말씀을 마음에 새긴 요한은 이렇게 말합니다. “사랑하는 여러분, 하나님께서 이토록 우리를 사랑해 주셨으니 우리도 서로 사랑해야 합니다. 지금까지 하나님을 본 사람은 없습니다. 그러나 우리가 서로 사랑하면 하나님이 우리 안에 계시고 그분의 사랑이 우리 안에서 완성될 것입니다.”(요일 4:11-12) 또한 이렇게 말합니다. “하나님을 사랑한다고 하면서 형제를 미워하는 사람은 거짓말쟁이입니다. 눈에 보이는 형제를 사랑하지 못하는 사람이 보이지 않는 하나님을 사랑할 수는 없습니다. 하나님을 사랑하는 사람은 형제도 사랑해야 합니다. 우리는 이 계명을 예수님에게서 받았습니다.”(요일 4:20-21)라고 했습니다.

우리에게 찾아오신 예수님을 왕으로 모시고 그분을 널리 드러내며 사는 것이 제자의 도리입니다. 우리가 서로 사랑할 때 그 도리를 실천하게 되며, 그것이 곧 하나님을 사랑하는 길이 됩니다. 이번 성탄절에 우리가 받은 하나님의 사랑을 다시 확신하고 이웃들과 나누는 은혜가 있기를 바랍니다.

Jesus Who Revealed True Love (John 13:34–35)

As we journey through Advent and arrive at Christmas, our hearts turn once again to Jesus, the One who has shown us the fullness of true love. The Almighty God could have forgiven sinners in countless other ways, yet He chose to come into this world clothed in human flesh and to die on the cross. God did not merely speak of His love; He entered our world, took upon Himself the punishment we deserved, and revealed the depth of His love through the cross.

Romans 5:8 declares, “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” And 1 John 4:9 testifies, “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.”

Jesus came in human form to dwell among sinners. Christmas is a season in which we encounter Jesus, our Immanuel, in a personal way. It is a time to look again to the One who still dwells within us through the Holy Spirit. Having experienced the love of God, we give thanks for the joy of eternal life, and we are called to share that love with those around us. This is what pleases Jesus, and this is the true way to love our neighbor. Jesus said in John 13:34–35, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

John, who treasured these words in his heart, writes, “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” (1 John 4:11–12) He continues, “Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.” (1 John 4:20–21)

To welcome Jesus as our King and to make Him known through our lives is the calling of every disciple. When we love one another, we live out that calling, and in doing so, we express our love for God Himself. My prayer is that this Christmas, we would once again be assured of God’s great love for us and that we would share that love generously with our neighbors.

참 기쁨이 되시는 예수 그리스도 (눅 2:8-14)

예수님의 탄생소식을 전하는 천사들의 메시지는 “온 백성에게 미칠 큰 기쁨의 좋은 소식”이었습니다. 강보에 싸여 구유에 누인 아기가 그분이라는 증거가 되었습니다. 천사들은 “지극히 높은 곳에서는 하나님께 영광이요 땅에서는 하나님이 기뻐하신 사람들 중에 평화”라고 찬송했습니다. 구주 탄생 소식을 들은 목자들은 즉시 베들레헴으로 달려가 구유에 누인 아기 예수님을 찾아 경배하고, 천사들로부터 들은 기쁨의 소식을 그곳에 있는 사람들에게 전하며 하나님께 영광을 돌렸습니다.

하나님은 어제나 오늘이나 영원하도록 변함이 없는 분입니다. 하나님은 인간의 역사와 삶 속에 깊이 개입하여 자신을 드러내시는 전능자이며 주관자이십니다. 그러기에 불안한 시대를 사는 현대인들에게 성탄의 소식은 여전히 기쁨의 소식이어야 하며 하나님은 우리를 불러 그 역할을 하게 하십니다. 우리들의 성탄절이 하나님의 구속의 역사와 예수님을 믿고 얻는 평화와 기쁨을 선포하는 절기가 되기를 바랍니다. 예수님을 구주로 믿고 참 기쁨과 평화를 알게 되었으니 목자들처럼 그 소식을 세상에 전합시다.

Jesus Christ, Our True Joy (Luke 2:8–14)

The message of the angels announcing the birth of Jesus was “good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” The sign given was a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. The angels praised God, saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests.” Upon hearing the news of the Savior’s birth, the shepherds immediately hurried to Bethlehem, found the baby Jesus lying in the manger, and worshiped Him. They then shared the joyful message they had received from the angels with those around them, glorifying God.

God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is the Almighty who intervenes in human history and life, revealing Himself as Lord over all. Therefore, even in uncertain times, the message of Christmas must remain a message of joy, and God calls us to proclaim it. May our celebration of Christmas be a season that declares God’s redeeming work and the peace and joy found through faith in Jesus Christ. Since we have come to know true joy and peace by believing in Jesus as our Savior, let us, like the shepherds, share this good news with the world.

북 이스라엘이 앗수르에게 나라를 잃고 남 유다마저 신흥 바벨론에게 나라를 빼앗겼을 때 사람들의 마음은 다윗의 영광이나 솔로몬의 영광을 잃어버린 상실감으로 가득했고, 아브라함의 후손이라는 자긍심도 무너진 상태였습니다. 외부세력의 압제는 물론이고, 하나님을 떠난 죄 때문에 당하는 영적인 고통도 함께 나타나던 암흑에 사로잡혔습니다. 그러나 이때가 하나님의 구원을 바라고 잠잠히 기다리는 은혜의 때가 되었습니다.

이럴 때 이사야는 ‘평강의 왕’이신 예수 그리스도께서 빛으로 오셔서, 어둠을 몰아내고 진리를 드러내며 참 자유와 평화를 주신다고 예언했습니다. 그분은 그의 백성을 다스리는 통치자이며, ‘위대한 스승’, ‘전능하신 하나님’, ‘영원히 계시는 아버지’, ‘평화의 왕’이라 불리는 분입니다.(사 9:6).

Jesus Christ, Our True Hope (Isaiah 9:1–7)

When the northern kingdom of Israel lost its nation to Assyria, and even Judah was later taken by the rising Babylonian empire, the hearts of the people were filled with grief over the loss of David’s glory and Solomon’s splendor. Their pride in being descendants of Abraham had also collapsed. They were engulfed in darkness—not only under the oppression of foreign powers but also in the spiritual anguish that came from turning away from God. Yet this very time became a season of grace, a moment to hope for God’s salvation and to wait quietly upon Him.

In such a time, Isaiah prophesied that Jesus Christ, the “Prince of Peace,” would come as light—driving out the darkness, revealing the truth, and granting true freedom and peace. He is the ruler who governs His people, and He is called “Wonderful Counselor,” “Mighty God,” “Everlasting Father,” and “Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

The Expression of Faith: Thanksgiving (Luke 17:11–19) Yoon Junhee

Leprosy patients in those days were regarded as unclean, cursed, and social outcasts. Thus, the ten lepers could not approach Jesus closely; instead, they stood at a distance and cried out loudly, calling Him “Lord” and pleading for mercy. Yet Jesus did not heal them immediately. Instead, He said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” This was a risky command, for it meant exposing their uncleanness. But when they obeyed in faith, they were cleansed on the way.

Jesus praised the faith of the foreigner who returned to give thanks, saying, “Your faith has made you well.” How earnestly do we cry out to God? And after receiving His answer, how often do we give thanks? Thanksgiving is not merely a polite gesture—it is the true expression of faith.

하나님께 합당한 예배 (신 27:4-7)

이스라엘은 가나안 땅에 들어가 하나님의 말씀에 순종하겠다는 증표로 에발 산에 율법을 기록한 기념비를 세우고, 다듬지 않은 돌로 단을 쌓아 번제와 화목제를 드렸습니다. 레위 사람들이 언약궤를 메고 그리심 산과 에발 산 중간에 서면, 백성의 절반은 그리심 산을 등지고 서고, 절반은 에발 산을 등지고 서서 여호수아가 읽어 주는 율법의 축복과 저주의 말씀을 들었습니다.(수 8:30-35).

이렇게 중요한 말씀의 돌비를 저주를 선포했던 에발 산에 세운 것은 죄의 심각성을 알려주고 악한 세상에서 말씀에 순종하게 하기 위함입니다. 다듬지 않은 돌로 단을 쌓은 것은 가식이 없는 겸손함으로 하나님을 예배하라는 것입니다. 이스라엘은 가나안에서도 하나님의 사람으로 살아야 했습니다. 이스라엘을 제사장나라로 부르신 하나님은 우리들을 불러 구원의 소식을 세상에 전하는 그리스도의 편지로 사용하십니다. (고후 3:3).

Worship Worthy of God (Deuteronomy 27:4–7)

When Israel entered the land of Canaan, they set up a memorial stone on Mount Ebal, inscribed with the Law, as a sign of their commitment to obey God’s Word. They built an altar of uncut stones and offered burnt offerings and fellowship offerings upon it. When the Levites carried the Ark of the Covenant and stood between Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal, half of the people faced Gerizim and the other half faced Ebal, listening as Joshua read aloud the blessings and curses of the Law (Joshua 8:30–35).

It is significant that the stone tablets of God’s Word were placed on Mount Ebal, the mountain of curses. This was to remind Israel of the seriousness of sin and to call them to obedience in a corrupt world. The altar of uncut stones symbolized worship offered in humility, without pretense. Even in Canaan, Israel was to live as God’s people. The Lord, who called Israel to be a kingdom of priests, now calls us to be letters of Christ, bearing the message of salvation to the world (2 Corinthians 3:3).

교회는 타락하고 불의한 세상과 싸우는 영적 군대입니다. 그러므로 우리는 옛날의 생활방식에서 벗어나야 합니다. 거짓된 욕망으로 오염된 옛 사람을 벗어 버리고, 마음과 정신을 새롭게 하여 의와 진리의 거룩함으로 창조된 새사람을 입어야 합니다. (엡 4:22-24).

Stand Firm in Faith (Deuteronomy 20:1–9)

The wars that Israel had to fight were not merely for territorial conquest, but were battles in which they served as God’s instrument to judge the sins of Canaan. As Israel prepared for war, their first priority was not military strategy, but seeking the presence of God. The priest stood before the people and proclaimed God’s nearness, turning their hearts toward Him and opening their ears to His word. The commanders removed anything that could weaken the unity of the troops.

Likewise, the church today is a spiritual army fighting against a corrupt and unjust world. Therefore, we must leave behind our former way of life. We must put off the old self, corrupted by deceitful desires, and be renewed in our minds and spirits, putting on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:22–24).

예수 그리스도를 믿는 우리들은 성령의 조명하시는 은혜를 힘입어 하나님의 뜻을 분별합니다. 우리가 성도의 정체성을 분명히 할 때 마귀의 유혹을 물리치고 거룩함을 유지할 수 있습니다. 이스라엘 때문에 이방인들이 하나님을 알고 구원에 이르게 된 것처럼 우리들도 다른 사람을 복 받게 만들어야 합니다.

Living as God’s People (Deuteronomy 14:1–21)

God chose Israel, walked with them, and guided, protected, and refined them so they could live as His people. “For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you to be His treasured possession.” (v.2) Having encountered God, Israel was called to obey His commands and revere Him alone. God required a distinct way of life from Israel—even their food had to be set apart from that of the Gentiles.

As believers in Jesus Christ, we discern God’s will through the illuminating grace of the Holy Spirit. When we clearly embrace our identity as saints, we can resist the devil’s temptations and maintain holiness. Just as the Gentiles came to know God and receive salvation through Israel, we too are called to be a blessing to others.

“Let Us Receive and Enjoy the Added Blessings” (Haggai 2:10–19)

The prophet Haggai encouraged the people who had grown complacent in their circumstances with the word of the Lord: “I am with you.” He urged them to rise up and rebuild the temple. Yet even as they worked on the temple, their lives did not align with God’s will. Without holiness in life, worship is not acceptable to God. Therefore, those who participated in building the temple needed to first undergo a transformation in their hearts and conduct. God declared that their actions were like defiled offerings.

God led His people to reflect on their past hardships, calling them to repentance. Then, in His grace, He promised: “From this day on I will bless you” (v.19). As those who have been saved, we are being built together into a holy temple in the Lord, joined in Christ Jesus, the cornerstone, through the help of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 2:21). And the glory of God will dwell in that temple.

바울은 “너희 몸을 하나님이 기뻐하시는 거룩한 산제사로 드리라”(롬 12:1)고 했습니다. 공동체 예배에서 하나님을 만나고 힘을 얻었다면, 그 말씀을 일상에서 실천하는 것이 바른 예배입니다. 이를 위해 말씀을 읽고 묵상하며, 하나님의 뜻대로 살기 위해 기도해야 합니다. 하나님과의 인격적인 교제가 풍성해질 때, 우리의 예배는 더욱 깊어집니다.

Right Worship Restores Us (Deuteronomy 12:1–14)

Worship is the place where we learn about God. In worship, we encounter Him, commune with Him, and discern His will. Worship is not a tool for our convenience or a means to solve our problems—it exists to please God. True worship delights the Lord, revives our souls, and strengthens the church. Through worship that shares in God’s holiness, our spirits are awakened and His presence is revealed.

Paul exhorts us to “offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God” (Romans 12:1). If we have met God and received strength through corporate worship, then living out His Word in our daily lives is the essence of true worship. To do this, we must read and meditate on Scripture and pray to live according to His will. As our personal relationship with God deepens, so too does the richness of our worship.

How to Receive the Promised Blessing (Deuteronomy 11:1–9)

Moses’ sermon overflows with exhortations to love God and keep His commandments. The more deeply we remember the grace God has poured out, the more fervently we come to love Him. Satan seeks to sever our relationship with God by luring us into sin through lies and deception. He entices human desires—material gain, power, and pleasure—with the sweet temptation of becoming like God. Therefore, we must fix our gaze on the Lord, the source of life, and guard our hearts with unwavering devotion.

When we serve God rightly, we receive the blessings He has promised. But if we turn to other gods, the heavens will close, and destruction will follow. The choice is ours. If we love God and live according to His Word, we can remain in close fellowship with Him and enjoy His abundant blessings.

모세는 조상들에게 주신 하나님의 약속이 현재 살아 있는 세대에게도 동일하게 적용된다는 점을 말했습니다. 하나님의 말씀은 과거의 격언으로 머물러서는 안 됩니다. 오늘 나에게 들려주시는 살아 있는 말씀이어야 합니다. 율법의 목적은 말씀을 실천함으로 복을 받고 번성하게 하려는 데 있습니다. 하나님의 말씀에 순종하는 것은 곧 하나님을 사랑하는 일입니다. 하나님께서는 죄로 인해 단절된 인간에게 율법을 주시고, 하나님을 바르게 예배하며 영원한 생명과 복을 누리게 하셨습니다. 과거에 선배들에게 주신 말씀을 우리가 읽고 실천할 때, 그 말씀이 오늘 나에게 주시는 말씀으로 살아납니다.

Blessings Through Obedience to God’s Word (Deuteronomy 6:1–9)

Moses declared that the promises God gave to the ancestors of Israel still apply to the living generation today. God’s Word must not remain as ancient sayings—it must become a living message spoken to us now. The purpose of the law is to lead us to blessing and abundance through obedience. To obey God’s Word is to love Him. God gave the law to restore the broken relationship caused by sin, so that we might worship Him rightly and enjoy eternal life and blessing. When we read and practice the words once given to our spiritual forebears, they become God’s living message to us today.

We come to know God through His written Word. That is why we read it, meditate on it, and engrave it upon our hearts. When the Word is applied to our lives, it becomes alive and renews us. This is the power of the Word and the way the Holy Spirit works. God’s Word was given for our benefit. Without drawing near to His Word, no one can truly love God. Let us remain vigilant, live out His Word, receive His blessings, and walk in a life that is pleasing to Him.

이스라엘 백성들이 구름과 바다를 지나며 세례를 받고, 신령한 음식과 음료를 먹고도 멸망했던 것을 교훈삼아 날마다 성령으로 충만하여 하나님의 말씀에 순종하여 복을 누립시다.

The Importance of Obeying God’s Word (Deut. 4:1–9)

God’s Word is not mere information—it is power that transforms us. That’s why we study it, meditate on it, and seek to inscribe it on our hearts. If we hear God’s Word but do not obey it, we deceive ourselves. We end up knowing about God intellectually, but missing a personal relationship with Him. As James exhorts, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says” (James 1:22).

God’s Word is living and active. It is sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). It is a light that illuminates our path. When we walk in obedience to that light, the blessings promised in the Word are fulfilled in our lives.

Let us learn from the Israelites, who passed through the cloud and the sea, received baptism, and ate spiritual food and drink—yet still perished because of disobedience. May we be filled daily with the Holy Spirit, obey God’s Word, and walk in the blessings He has prepared for us.

온고지신의 믿음 (신 1:19-32)

호렙산에서 가데스 바네아까지는 열 하루면 도달할 수 있는 거리였지만, 그 여정은 결국 40년이 걸렸습니다. 가나안을 정탐한 사람들이 돌아와 그곳의 거주민들이 장대하고 성읍은 견고하다고 보고하자 사람들은 모세와 아론을 원망했고, 차라리 애굽에서 죽었더라면 좋았겠다며 하나님의 인도하심을 부정했습니다. 이 일로 출애굽한 1세대 중 20세 이상은 모두 광야에서 죽고, 여호수아와 갈렙과 다음세대가 가나안에 들어갔습니다. 가데스 바네아는 불신앙의 결과가 무엇인지를 보여주는 장소가 되었습니다.

가나안을 진멸하라는 하나님의 명령은 그 땅을 차지하기 위한 전쟁을 하라는 것이 아니라 가나안의 죄를 멀리하라는 영적 요청입니다. 정탐꾼을 숨겨주었던 라합은 자기 현실보다 하나님을 선택한 믿음의 사람입니다. 믿음은 현실의 어려움보다 더 크신 하나님을 선택하는 것입니다. 우리에게도 이러한 적극적인 믿음이 필요합니다.

“Faith That Learns from the Past” (Deuteronomy 1:19–32):

The journey from Mount Horeb to Kadesh Barnea should have taken just eleven days, but it ended up lasting forty years. When the spies returned from Canaan and reported that its inhabitants were tall and its cities strongly fortified, the people began to grumble against Moses and Aaron. They even said it would have been better to die in Egypt, rejecting God’s guidance. Because of this, all those from the Exodus generation who were twenty years old and above died in the wilderness, and only Joshua, Caleb, and the next generation entered the land of Canaan. Kadesh Barnea became a place that vividly reveals the consequences of unbelief.

God’s command to destroy Canaan was not a call to wage war for territorial gain, but a spiritual directive to separate from the sins of that land. Rahab, who hid the spies, was a woman of faith who chose God over her present reality. Faith means choosing the God who is greater than our present fears and difficulties. We too need this kind of active, courageous faith.

The Necessity of Obedience to God’s Word (Deuteronomy 1:1–5)

Deuteronomy is Moses’ sermon to the next generation, delivered at the edge of the wilderness. It is a retelling of the Word of God that had been proclaimed throughout Israel’s journey. From this passage, we can draw four core teachings:

Worship the LORD alone — Israel is called to exclusive devotion to Yahweh, rejecting all other allegiances.

Follow God’s appointed way of worship — Worship is not shaped by human preference, but by God’s chosen place and pattern.

Reject the ways of the Canaanites — Israel must not imitate the idolatry or lifestyle of the surrounding nations.

Live as a priestly community — To fulfill their calling, the people must practice love and justice in daily life.

Moses reflects on the past, reaffirms the law, and blesses the future generation to walk in obedience. His message is clear: obedience brings life and blessing; disobedience leads to death and judgment. This is not only Moses’ teaching—it is God’s truth for us today.
The choice is ours.

예수님께서는 하나님 나라의 잔치가 “장차”가 아니라 이미, 지금, 시작되었다고 말씀하십니다. 먼저 초청을 받았던 사람들은 저마다의 중요한 일로 그 초청을 거부했고, 결국 잔치에 들어가지 못했습니다. 이미 우리 곁에 시작된 하나님 나라, 그곳으로의 초청은 우리가 당장 응답해야 할 초청입니다. 어떤 상황과 이유보다 우선 되어야 합니다.

그 초청에 응한, 믿음을 가진 사람의 삶은 가족, 소유, 목숨보다 예수님을 더 사랑하며, 죽기를 각오하고 나의 십자가를 지고 예수님께서 십자가 지고 가신 그 길을 따르는 입니다. 그 길은 우리에게 준비와 결단을 요구합니다. 그리고 그 준비와 결단은 믿음을 통해 주어집니다.

하나님 나라의 초청은 지금이며, 그 응답은 모든 것을 버리고 따르는 결단입니다. 하나님의 나라가 지금 우리 곁에 있는 하나님 나라가 되어지고, 하나님의 초청이, 지금 내가 응답하는 초청이 되어지고, 예수님께서 걸으신 죽음의 십자가의 길이 부활의 길이었듯, 나도 죽음의 십자가의 길을 따라, 하나님 안에 살아있는 삶을 사시기를 예수님의 이름으로 축원합니다.

Now That Everything Is Ready, Come Now (Luke 14:15–35) Rev. Junhee Jung

Jesus declares that the banquet of the Kingdom of God is not merely something that will come “someday,” but has already begun—here and now. Those who were first invited each declined the invitation, citing their own important affairs. In the end, they missed the banquet entirely.

The invitation to the Kingdom, already unfolding beside us, is one we must respond to immediately. It must take precedence over any circumstance or excuse.
The life of one who responds in faith to this invitation is marked by a love for Jesus that surpasses love for family, possessions, or even life itself. It is a life that embraces the cross—carrying one’s own and following the path Jesus walked to Calvary. That path demands preparation and resolve, and such readiness is given through faith.

The invitation to God’s Kingdom is for now, and the response it calls for is a decisive surrender—to leave everything and follow. May the Kingdom of God become the Kingdom beside us, may God’s invitation become the invitation I respond to today, and just as the path of the cross Jesus walked led to resurrection, may we too walk the way of the cross unto life in God. In Jesus’ name, I bless you.

하나님의 거처인 성막 (출 40:33-38) 8/17/25

출애굽기 40장은 성막건축의 마지막 과정을 설명해주는데, “여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 되니라”는 말씀이 반복적으로 나옵니다. 모세가 하나님의 지시에 철저하게 순종했음을 강조합니다. 모세는 그 말씀에 따라 성막을 세우고 제일 안쪽에 있는 지성소로부터 성소와 뜰에 이르기까지 성구들을 질서 있게 배치했습니다. 그리고 모든 기구에 관유를 발라 거룩하게 구별했습니다.

성막이 완성되자 하나님의 영광이 구름으로 나타나 성막에 가득했습니다. 그 구름은 하나님의 임재를 보여주는 것이었습니다. 구름이 성막 위에 머물 때는 이스라엘이 진을 쳤으며 구름이 떠오르면 이스라엘도 이동했습니다.“구름이 성막 위에 떠오를 때에는 이스라엘 자손이 그 모든 행진하는 길에 앞으로 나아갔고…”라는 말씀처럼, 하나님은 이스라엘과 함께 했습니다. 하나님의 임재는 낮에는 구름으로 밤에는 불기둥으로 성막위에 머물렀습니다. 이것은 하나님께서 이스라엘과 항상 함께 하시며 그들을 통치하고 다스리는 왕이라는 것을 보여준 것입니다. 오늘날 우리도 성령의 감동에 따라 순종하며 하나님의 인도하심을 따라야 하겠습니다.

Exodus 40 describes the final stage of constructing the tabernacle, repeatedly stating, “As the Lord commanded Moses.” This repetition emphasizes Moses’ complete obedience to God’s instructions. Following God’s word, Moses erected the tabernacle and arranged its furnishings in orderly fashion—from the innermost Holy of Holies to the Holy Place and the outer courtyard. He also anointed each item with sacred oil, consecrating them for holy use.

Once the tabernacle was completed, the glory of the Lord appeared as a cloud and filled the sanctuary. This cloud signified God’s presence. When the cloud remained over the tabernacle, Israel stayed encamped; when it lifted, they set out. As Scripture says, “Whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, the Israelites would set out on all their journeys,” showing that God was with them. His presence rested over the tabernacle as a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. This revealed that God was always with Israel, reigning over them as their King. Today, we too must follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, obeying His promptings and trusting in God’s guidance.

회복의 은혜를 구합시다 (출 34:5-10) 8/10/25

이스라엘 백성들이 금송아지를 섬긴 일은 하나님의 백성으로 인정받은 약속을 저버린 일이었습니다. 모세의 간절한 기도를 들으신 하나님은 이스라엘과 언약을 다시 세우고 삶의 규례를 재정비해주셨습니다. “너희는 다른 신에게 절하지 말아라. 나 여호와는 질투하는 하나님이다.”(출 34:14). “너희 모든 남자들은 매년 세 번씩 이스라엘의 하나님 나 주 여호와에게 경배하러 와야 한다.”(출 34:23). “너희는 너희가 추수한 첫 열매 중에서 제일 좋은 것을 너희 하나님 나 여호와의 집으로 가져오너라.”(출 34:26).

예배는 하나님과의 관계를 기억하는 삶의 리듬입니다. 이스라엘이 절기를 지키며 하나님과 관계를 바로 한다면 하나님은 이방민족을 쫓아내고 영토를 넓혀주겠다고 했습니다. 이스라엘이 제사장 나라로 살며 하나님의 구원의 일을 세상에 알릴 수 있도록 다시 회복시켜 주셨습니다. 우리들의 관심이 어디에 있는지를 점검하고 예배의 감격을 회복해야 하겠습니다.

Let Us Seek the Grace of Restoration (Exodus 34:5–10)

The Israelites’ worship of the golden calf was a betrayal of the covenant that had marked them as God’s chosen people. Yet in response to Moses’ earnest intercession, God graciously renewed His covenant with Israel and reestablished the rhythms of life that reflect their identity as His people.

“Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.” (Exodus 34:14) “Three times a year all your men must appear before the Sovereign Lord, the God of Israel.” (Exodus 34:23) “Bring the best of the firstfruits of your harvest to the house of the Lord your God.” (Exodus 34:26)

Worship is not merely ritual—it is the rhythm by which we remember and renew our relationship with God. When Israel honored these sacred rhythms, God promised to drive out foreign nations and expand their territory. He was restoring them to live as a priestly nation, proclaiming His saving work to the world.
This calls us to examine where our attention and affections lie. Have we lost the wonder of worship? Let us return to the joy of communion with God, and rediscover the power of worship to shape our lives and witness.

하나님의 임재를 간구하라 (출 33:12-23)

하나님의 임재는 하나님께서 자신을 드러내시는 일입니다. 그러기에 성도들이 하나님의 임재를 경험하는 것은 큰 은혜이자 특권입니다. 예수님은 지상 사역을 마치고 하늘로 올라가시며 제자들에게 항상 함께하겠다고 약속했습니다. (마 28:19). 그 주님께서는 지금도 보혜사 성령을 통해 그의 백성인 교회와 함께하십니다. 하나님의 임재를 경험한 성도는 생각과 행동이 변할 수밖에 없습니다.

영이신 하나님이 사람들 가운데 거하시는 것은 영으로 깨어 있는 사람만이 알 수가 있습니다. 예배는 하나님의 도움을 구하는 시간이 아니라, 하나님의 임재 가운데로 들어가는 것입니다. 예배를 통해 우리는 하나님을 만나고, 하나님의 성품을 닮아갑니다. 그러므로 주의 말씀이 우리를 다스리도록 겸손히 엎드려 하나님을 찾아야 합니다. 영으로 깨어 있는 예배를 통해 하나님과의 교통이 일어나기 때문입니다. (요 4:23).

Seek God’s Presence (Exodus 33:12–23)

God’s presence is His act of revealing Himself. For believers, experiencing His presence is both a profound grace and a sacred privilege. When Jesus completed His earthly ministry and ascended to heaven, He promised His disciples that He would always be with them (Matthew 28:19). Even now, the Lord is with His people—the Church—through the Holy Spirit, our Advocate.
Anyone who has truly encountered God’s presence cannot help but be transformed in thought and action.

Because God is Spirit, only those who are spiritually awake can perceive His dwelling among people. Worship is not merely a time to ask for God’s help—it is the moment we enter into His presence. Through worship, we meet God and begin to resemble His character. Therefore, we must humbly bow before His Word and seek Him, allowing His truth to govern our lives. It is through spiritually awakened worship that true communion with God takes place (John 4:23).

주일예배의 의미 (출 31:12-17)

예수님은 안식일에 밀 이삭을 잘라 먹다가 율법을 어겼다는 비난을 받던 제자들을 변호하시며 자신이 안식일의 주인이라고 말씀하셨습니다.(눅 6:5). 율법을 지키는 것만이 아니라, 사람을 살리는 율법의 정신이 더 중요하다는 점을 강조하셨습니다. 신약 교회는 안식일의 정신을 이어받아 예수 그리스도의 부활을 기념하는 주일에 예배합니다. 이 날에 예배하며 우리의 구원을 다시 확증하고 하나님 나라 백성으로의 정체성을 새롭게 합니다.

우리는 주일에 예배하는 것은 물론이고, 가족과 이웃을 섬기며, 하나님의 사랑을 실천하여 주일을 거룩하게 만듭니다. 이렇게 하여 우리가 하나님께 속한 사람이라는 것을 드러내고 우리 생활의 방향과 목적을 하나님의 뜻에 합당하도록 조정합니다. 그리하여 장차 누릴 새 하늘과 새 땅에서의 영원한 안식과 평안을 앞당겨 맛봅니다.

The Meaning of Sunday Worship (Exodus 31:12–17)

When Jesus’ disciples were accused of breaking the law by plucking heads of grain on the Sabbath, He defended them by declaring Himself as the Lord of the Sabbath (Luke 6:5). In doing so, He emphasized not just rule-keeping, but the deeper spirit of the law—a principle that gives life. The New Testament church, embracing this spirit, gathers for worship on Sunday to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. On this day, we reaffirm our salvation and renew our identity as citizens of God’s Kingdom.

Sunday worship is more than attending a service—it is also lived out through loving our families and neighbors, and practicing God’s love in tangible ways. By doing so, we sanctify the day and bear witness that we belong to God. Our lives are reoriented toward His will and purposes. Ultimately, Sunday becomes a foretaste of eternal rest and peace in the new heavens and new earth—a preview of the future that God has promised His people.

교회는 세상을 위한 제사장입니다. (출 29:1-9)

하나님께서는 성막을 통해 이스라엘과 함께 거하시길 원하셨습니다. 죄 가운데 있는 백성이 거룩하신 하나님과 교제하려면 제사의 중재가 필요했습니다. 그래서 하나님은 아론과 그의 아들들을 제사장으로 부르시고 구별하셨습니다. 제사장은 속죄제를 통해 죄 사함을 받고, 번제로 헌신을 고백하며, 화목제를 통해 하나님과의 친교를 유지했습니다. 아침과 저녁으로 드리는 상번제를 통하여 지속적으로 하나님을 예배하며 헌신하는 삶을 살 수 있었습니다.

구약의 제사장들이 속죄제와 번제, 화목제로 하나님 앞에서 거룩했다면, 오늘 우리는 그리스도를 믿는 믿음으로 세상을 위한 제사장으로 세워지고 있습니다. 예수 그리스도는 우리의 죄를 용서하시고 하나님 앞에 나아갈 수 있도록 하신 참된 대제사장이십니다. 구원받은 성도는 장차 예수 그리스도와 함께 왕 노릇하게 될 것입니다. 그러니 제사장들이 하나님과 사람 사이에서 일했듯이 오늘 우리들은 예배와 선교를 통해 세상에 하나님을 나타내는 역할을 감당해야 합니다.

The Church as Priest for the World (Exodus 29:1–9)

God desired to dwell among Israel through the tabernacle. Because the people were sinful and God is holy, they needed the mediation of sacrificial worship to commune with Him. So God called and set apart Aaron and his sons to serve as priests. Through the sin offering, the priests received forgiveness; through the burnt offering, they expressed their devotion; and through the fellowship offering, they maintained communion with God. With the daily morning and evening offerings, they continually worshiped God and lived lives of consecration.

If the priests of the Old Testament were made holy before God through the sin, burnt, and fellowship offerings, today we are established as priests for the world through faith in Christ. Jesus Christ is the true High Priest who forgives our sins and leads us into God’s presence. Those who are saved will one day reign with Christ as kings. So just as priests once ministered between God and the people, today we are called to reveal God to the world through worship and mission.

함께 세워져가는 교회 (엡 2:19-22)

교회는 하나님의 가족이 함께 하는 곳이며 하나님이 거하는 공동체입니다. 교회는 예수님 안에서 한 가족이 된, 한 피 받아 한 몸 이룬 형제들이 사는 곳입니다. 교회는 사도들과 선지자의 터 위에 세워졌습니다. 교회는 그들의 가르침을 통해 선포된 하나님의 말씀위에 기초합니다. 우리가 믿는 핵심은 그리스도의 대속의 죽음과 부활입니다. 그 주님께서 지금 영으로 우리와 함께 하시고 때가 되면 다시 오시어 우리가 행한 대로 갚아주실 것입니다.

교회를 통하여 우리는 말씀과 기도로 사는 것과 성령께 순종하는 삶을 배웁니다. 그 일은 모이기를 힘쓰고, 처음 사랑을 회복하고, 기쁨으로 주님을 섬기는 일로 드러납니다. 그런 영적인 삶이 다음세대와 지역사회를 복되게 만드는 것이며, 하나님을 세상에 드러내는 빛과 소금이 되는 것입니다. 기도하는 손, 눈물 흘리는 마음, 함께 웃는 얼굴로 교회를 세웁시다. 그래서 하나님의 거처가 되는 교회, 성령 안에서 함께 지어져가는 교회, 하나님의 영광을 드러내는 교회를 이루어갑시다.

The Church Being Built Together (Ephesians 2:19–22)

The church is a place where the family of God gathers, a community where God dwells. It is the home of brothers and sisters who have become one family in Christ, united by His blood to form one body.
The church is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, grounded in the Word of God proclaimed through their teaching. At the heart of our faith is the atoning death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through His Spirit, He is now present with us—and one day He will return to reward each according to what they have done.

Through the church, we learn to live by the Word and prayer, and to walk in obedience to the Holy Spirit. This spiritual life is revealed when we devote ourselves to gathering together, recover our first love, and serve the Lord with joy. Such a life blesses the next generation and transforms our communities. It becomes light and salt that reveals God to the world.
So let us build the church with praying hands, tearful hearts, and smiling faces. May we become a church that is God’s dwelling, a church being built together in the Spirit, and a church that displays the glory of God.

하나님의 처소인 성막 (출 25:1–9)

성막이나 교회는 모두 하나님과 교제하기 위한 거룩한 장소입니다. “무릇 마음에 원하는 자로부터 내게 드리는 모든 것을 너희는 받을지니라.”(출 25:2). 하나님은 억지로가 아니라, 기쁨과 자원함으로 드리는 헌신을 받으십니다. 이스라엘 백성은 애굽에서 나올 때 하나님께서 주신 것들 중 일부를 기쁨으로 드렸습니다. 그들의 헌신은 단순한 물질의 제공이 아니라, 하나님을 향한 사랑의 표현이었습니다.

하나님은 성막을 지을 때, “내가 네게 보이는 모양대로” 만들라고 명령하십니다(출 25:9). 이는 예배와 헌신이 인간의 방식이 아니라, 하나님의 방식이어야 함을 보여줍니다. 성막이나 교회는 하나님의 뜻을 세상에 드러내는 거룩한 도구입니다. 성막에 임재하시는 하나님은 구름으로 자신을 나타내셨고, 그 하나님이 육신을 입고 오신 분이 바로 그리스도 예수이십니다. 그분은 성령으로 믿는 자들과 함께 하시며, 성도는 성령의 거처가 되어 하나님을 세상에 드러냅니다.(고전 6:19)

The Tabernacle: God’s Dwelling Place. Exodus 25:1–9

The tabernacle—and by extension, the church—is a sacred space designed for communion with God. As Exodus 25:2 says, “You are to receive the offering for me from everyone whose heart prompts them to give.” God does not delight in offerings given out of compulsion, but in those given freely and joyfully. When the Israelites left Egypt, they brought with them treasures the Lord had provided. From these, they gave willingly—not merely as a material contribution, but as an expression of love and devotion to God.

When God instructed the construction of the tabernacle, He commanded,
“Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you” (Exodus 25:9). This reveals that worship and devotion are not to be shaped by human preference, but by divine design. The tabernacle—and likewise the church—is a holy instrument through which God’s will is made known to the world. God manifested His presence in the tabernacle through a cloud, and that same God later came in the flesh as Jesus Christ. He now dwells with believers through the Holy Spirit.

As Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 6:19, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you…?”
Therefore, each believer becomes a dwelling place of God’s Spirit, and the church becomes a living testimony of His presence in the world.
